Parent Coaching

Parents meet privately with me to clarify needs, learn new skills, create a plan, and take action steps to reach goals. Areas we usually cover involve improving communication, avoiding power struggles, and connecting with our children to manage and prevent undesired behaviours and challenging parenting situations. Using an attachment focused lens coupled with behavioural strategies, we focus on connection and respectful communication.

Working together, we’re able to bridge the gap between parenting styles to create lasting positive change for your family.

Parent coaching is effective in connecting with and understanding your child (up to age 12). It can also help you understand your child’s mental health or diagnosis, enhance your child’s social, emotional and cognitive growth, and increase communication for the whole family.

Parent coaching sessions are 50 minutes and include an emailed summary with action steps outlined. Sessions are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly in person or through video conferencing. A minimum of 6 sessions are recommended to achieve results.
