Jackie believes that you are the expert in your story, as such she takes a collaborative approach to counselling.

To be effective, she draws from many therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Art Therapy, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy and Sandplay, depending on her client’s particular journey. However, her constant is to use behaviour strategies because there comes a point in the therapeutic process where you have to act in order to see lasting change.

Growing up is not easy, especially transitioning into adulthood with so much uncertainty in the world these days. Jackie uses numerous techniques, including art therapy, to support adolescents on their journey to becoming the adult they want to be. She also helps bridge the gap that might have surfaced between them and their family.

Life doesn’t stop changing. Sometimes we need to slow down and process what’s going on around us. Adults need support, just like children and adolescents do. What story do you want your life to tell? What’s preventing you from living the life you want to live? Let’s work together to knock down those barriers and be the version of yourself you want to be.

Jackie has worked within the school system for about 10 years, She is able to offer psychoeducational and emotional/behavioural assessments as well counselling sessions to students. Further, she can provide consultation services concerning individual and classroom behaviours.
